yeah, the gym was open; the weather was gorgeous - it hit 59F!!! the rest of this week is expected to be in the mid-high 40's. oh yeah.... THIS is the kind of winter i like!!! however, i still have that VERY ANNOYING cough and it's driving me nuts! i feel ok; a little drained in the mornings, but good. however, today i feel lousy and i won't be going to the gym. i also have alot to do today with errands. you know - all that first-of-the-month crap! it's fun being old - LOL.

as beautiful as it was OUT yesterday, i stayed IN and played. i'm on a roll here people!!!!

now this one i like. absolutely nothing to it but cardstock. a deep suede-like red (pizzazz aplenty); the off white punched layer AND the laser heart i found in my die cut stash; added some pearls and there ya go. talk about easy!!!!

now THIS is stunning. one of the NEW butterflies from FLOPPY LATTE (that girl is on a roll); for some reason brown, pink and white just called to me annnnnddddd i like the results! another 5x5 card; embossed LEAFY BRANCH on the brown; punched out and layered some flowers and added some FRUIT PUNCH stickles to the butterfly. now, does anyone have a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 envelope template they can email me????? OR tell me just what size paper to use.... because when i open the 6x6 envelope up for a template it's way to big even for the 12x12 papers. cut and paste an envie? really? HELP!!!!

An elderly golfer comes in after a good round of golf at the new course and heads straight to the bar/restaurant area of the club house.

As he passes through the swinging doors, he spots a sign hanging over the bar that reads:

COLD BEER: $5.00

HAMBURGER: $10.00

CHEESEBURGER: $15.50
CHICKEN SANDWICH: $18.50

HAND JOB: $250.00

Checking his wallet to be sure he has the necessary money, the old golfer walks up to the bar and beckons to the exceptionally attractive female bartender who is serving drinks to a couple of sun-wrinkled golfers.

She glides down behind the bar to the old golfer.

“Yes?” she inquires with a wide, knowing smile. “May I help you sir?”

The old golfer leans over the bar and whispers, “I was wondering young lady, are you the one who gives the hand-jobs around here?”

She looks into his wrinkled eyes and with a wide smile purrs, “Yes sir, I sure am.”

The old golfer leans in even closer and into her left ear says softly, “Well then, be sure to wash your hands real good, because I want a cheeseburger.”

FEBRUARY 1 (boy, there's alot of things to celebrate today) - hula in the coola day (whatever the heck that means); spunky old broads day (actually this is the ENTIRE month and i'm all for it) and national working naked day (here's the link for this one - LINK - i know you'll be checking this one out)

FUN "NAKED" FACT: The word 'gymnasium' comes from the Greek word gymnazein which means 'to exercise naked' - what? and to think i wear those ugly sweats!!!! won't those farmers be surprised this morning!!!!

Fun... with a lot of coughing thrown in

so we get to the gym and.......... IT'S CLOSED! wth? there's nobody there. locked up tight. finally one of the men come by and said he's been waiting for the past 30 mins. and don't know what's happening. soooooooo, i suggest to my friend that as we're out, let's go to breakfast.... and off we go. after breakfast we head over to the gym and its still closed. guess we'll find out why today..... unless it's still closed!

spent the day crafting and coughing. i have this allergy that when the weather is cold but not cold - if you can understand what i mean - like above freezing but cold and VERY damp, i get this tickle in the back of my throat and i cough! cough, cough, cough. my throat this morning is sore and i'm trying not to breathe because i get that damn tickle and start coughing! doesn't happen often, but when it does it's very annoying!!! not only to me, but everyone else around me. sounds way worse than it is and it's definitely NOT contagious - just VERY annoying. so, that was my day.

a little different, ya think? and easy. found this oriental vellum in my stash and the image is by DOVER; pre-colored. it's one of their mandellas. needless to say, this is really CAS... nothing to do but cut and paste. only one challenge for this one, and that is... CRAFTY BLOGGERS which calls for an oriental theme.

now is this just the cutest???? i got a lovely comment from DIGI DARLA yesterday. we go way back to when she was just trying to get her images out there and i am so very proud of how far she has come. she now is one of the HOTTEST ladies out there with a really super fun challenge. anyway, the image is a freebie at the challenge; i colored her with copics; added XMAS RED stickles on the heart; the ticket was in my stash of digis; i used an EKSUCCESS punch for the border and the swirls are also from that punch. i just grin from ear-to-ear when i see this card... it's just too cute. what's not to love?

A very successful lawyer parked his brand-new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got out, a truck passed too close and completely tore off the door on the driver's side of the Lexus. The counselor immediately grabbed his cell phone, dialed 911, and within minutes a policeman pulled up.
Before the officer had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started screaming hysterically. His Lexus, which he had just picked up the day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter what the body shop did to it.

When the lawyer finally wound down from his ranting and raving, the officer shook his head in disgust and disbelief. "I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you don't notice anything else."

ok. i was in law for 45 years and trust me, NOT ALL lawyers are this bad! some are worse!!!

JANUARY 31st (wow, where did january go? and so fast too!) - inspire your heart with art day AND appreciate your social security check day - ok. the art appreciation i totally get. the social security check thing??? sadly enough i get that too! i'd appreciate it a whole lot more if there were COST OF LIVING increases!!!!

FUN USELESS FACT: A rainbow can only be seen in the morning or late afternoon - well duh! night sky... hellllloooo???? who studies these things????

Happy Monday

i actually stayed out of my craft room this weekend. dragging my butt and this morning i slept til quater to 6!!! holy moly! that's VERY late for me. but i guess i really needed it. i'm off to the gym for my walk so i'm posting this quickly.

even tho i didn't play over the weekend... yeah, you know... i have something to post. would i disappoint you?

my coloring looks lousy on this one (in my opinion) and i chose pale yellow and green as i didn't want to distinguish between boy OR girl. the image is by PATTIE'S CREATIONS; i embossed CHECKERED on the green and BABY on the yellow; added a ribbon and there ya go. there's only one challenge for this one and that's PATTIE'S CREATIONS.

now this one, to me, came out gorgeous! it's a new image from FLOPPY LATTE called A BIRD AMONG THE BRANCHES. i colored with copics; embossed PAPER LACE on the "baja breeze"; the red swirl was in my stash and from my friend vicki (thanks vic); personally? i think that red just makes this pop. oh, and it's a 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 card too! i KNOW i'll be making alot more cards in that size from now on. i'm just loving it. there are no challenges for this one (boo hoo).

Lazy Saturday

first, i know i didn't get to do much visiting yesterday, and i just love that you stopped by.... so... thank you so much for all your wonderful comments. YOU ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE!!!

i had a sweet 16 dinner to go to so i literally spent the day in my pj's and on the computer until it was time to get ready. lazy, lazy, lazy. i had a terrible kink in my neck and my left leg swelled up from just sitting too much. i had a chill in me all day that i just could not shake, but i still felt good despite it all. the dinner was delicious. my friend did ALL the cooking herself. she made what looked like at least 100 chicken wings which were yummy and i am NO FAN of chicken wings; 2 huge pots of mostaciolli - again absolutely yummy and the best potato salad ever! the cake was store bought and scrumptious - chocolate with whipped cream frosting!!!! she even gave me HUGE doggie bags to take home!!! the kids played videos and the parents all got to relax and visit - it was FABULOUS! got home a little after 9:00 pm and went straight to the bedroom. watched a little of the news and off the slumberland i went. this morning... i'm raring to go! my agenda today consists of church and some play time, which, in my opinion, means full and fun!

after a little decorating, this one turned out nice. the image again was a freebie at FREE DIGITAL STAMPS; colored with copics; my friend vicki {{hi vicki}} gave me a bunch of die cuts and the frame was one of them; sort of an odd olive green, but it works. once i placed it on the card, it was really too plain so i added lace and pearls. lucky me! one of the challenges this week just happens to call for pearls and lace; and the challenges for this are.....

this is another of my DT submission cards. the image is WELCOME by GLITTERBABE; i embossed CHECKERED on my base and used a light brown and blue color combo. actually i thought i had seen that color combo for a challenge, but for some reason i didn't mark it down. anyway, the corner die is a nestie and the sentiment is from the dollar bin. no challenges for this one.

Feel Good Friday

yeah, i know today is SATURDAY, but this post is about yesterday, so, hence the title!

wow! i actually slept-in today - til 5:30 - and it's snowy and cold. not much accumulation, more like a heavy dusting but it sure SOUNDS cold out there. anyway, i get onto the computer and in my email there are 2 emails from persons i do NOT know saying.... IF I MISSED THEIR BROADCAST, HERE'S THE LINK TO HOW TO BECOME FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT! nice try! i don't know you people and i'm definitely NOT clicking on any link. i do NOT want to be financially independent because if i did i would be there already! so in the trash they went! i hate when i get things like that. i am sooooooooooo glad and thankful, that i'm smart enough to recognize a scam when i see one! ok. got that off my chest!

so after the gym and breakfast yesterday we came home. never went to the mall - which i good as i'm NOT a mall person. it was a beautiful day - weatherwise - yesterday and i chose to stay in. i do that alot lately - LOL - probably because i really like being in my home. i LOVE MY HOME! ok, i digress.... here's my playing....

Let Me Clarify....

.... the GYM is just an old school basketball court. the school cheerleaders, basketball teams and wrestling teams practice there. there is NO EQUIPMENT. it's just an old school gym.... you know.... bleechers, stage and court. all i do is walk around the court - more like a dog chasing his tail - i don't talk to the girls i go with; we all walk at our own pace, round and round and round. but it gets me moving and my day started. i am really thankful for my neighbor because she lights that fire under my butt. there are several old retired farmers that are there walking too, so you do get to chat a little and make friends. it gets my day started and i feel good. i guess that's a good thing.

yesterday it was damp, drizzly and chilly and i stayed in and played.

this is a 5x5 card. i'm really liking this size. lots more room to play in!!! all the paper is scraps; the image was a freebie way back when from BIRDS CARDS (she's got some really stunning images); i colored with copics and added some bling; don't know who the stamp is by... i think it's from michael's dollar bin way back when. i did emboss HEARTS on the white strips. in addition to the following challenges, i am submitting this to SCRAPBOOK SISTERS DT call....

this was a special request from a friend. she said she met her hubby thru a wrong number back in the days BEFORE computers; the image is CALL ME by GLITTERBABE; all the music notes are stickers and the sentiment is computer generated using the font LD SPIRAL HEARTS; i colored the phone with R37 copic and topped it with some liquid glaze; i framed it using my DECKLE nestie. i emailed my friend a copy and she just loves it. as a matter of fact, so do i!

this morning after the gym we're going out for breakfast and then heading over to the mall for a little bit. should be a nice fun morning. we'll see how mojo feels by the time we get home. sooooooooooo, i hope you all have a super fabulous friday and i am just tickled pink that you dropped in!

today's words of wisdom.... Polish Loan

A Polish guy walked into a bank in New York City and asked for the loan officer. He told the loan officer that he was going to Poland on business for two weeks and needed to borrow $5,000 and that he was not a depositor of the bank.

The bank officer told him that the bank would need some form of security for the loan, so the Polish guy handed over the keys to a new Ferrari. The car was parked on the street in front of the bank.

The Polish guy produced the title and everything checked out. The loan officer agreed to hold the car as collateral for the loan and apologized for having to charge 12% interest.

Later, the bank's president and its officers all enjoyed a good laugh at the "dumb" Polack for using a $250,000 Ferrari as collateral for a $5,000 loan. Then the employee of the bank then drove the Ferrari into the bank's underground garage and parked it.

Two weeks later, the Polish guy returned, repaid the $5,000 and the interest of $23.07.

The loan officer said, 'Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is, why would you bother to borrow $5,000?'

The Polish replied: 'Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $23.07 and expect it to be there when I return?'

Wonderful Wednesday

so i gave mojo a break yesterday and never even looked at my room. instead, had a spur-of-the-moment lunch with a few of the fogies (chinese YUMMO), then did a few errands, then had a nice visit with jade's other grandparents, then off to prayer service. my day was FAB-U-LOUS!!!! i should do that at least once a week!!! today, i'm ready to create - well at least i am right now at 6:00 a.m. however, i'll be getting dressed in a few minutes to head to the gym. but when i get home...........WATCH OUT! LOL

but, you know me, i still have something for you to enjoy....

i think i've see this look before!!!! is this too cute or what? image is ELEPHANT LOVE by FLOPPY LATTE - brand spanking new and already 50% off!!!! check it out! so i colored him? her? with copics and added some stickles to the hearts. my base is plain-ol' white with a scrap pink on top; the sparkly hearts is a laser cut 12x12 from BIG LOTS no less. the price was still on it - can you believe i found it for 25¢??? a whole quarter! now THAT was a steal!

A little old lady was walking down the street dragging two large plastic garbage bags behind her. One of the bags was ripped and every once in a while a $20 bill fell out onto the sidewalk.

Noticing this, a policeman stopped her, and said, "Ma'am, there are $20 bills falling out of that bag."

"Oh, really? Darn it!" said the little old lady. "I'd better go back and see if I can find them.. Thanks for telling me officer."

Well, now, not so fast," said the cop. Where did you get all that money? You didn't steal it, did you?"

"Oh, no, no", said the old lady. "You see, my back yard is right next to a golf course. A lot of golfers come and pee through a knot hole in my fence, right into my flower garden. It used to really tick me off. Kills the flowers, you know. Then I thought, 'why not make the best of it?'

So, now, I stand behind the fence by the knot hole, real quiet, with my hedge clippers. Every time some guy sticks his thing through my fence, I surprise him, grab hold of it and say, 'O.K., buddy! Give me $20, or off it comes.'

"Well, that seems only fair," said the cop, laughing. "OK. Good luck! Oh, by the way, what's in the other bag?"

"Not everybody pays."

Fighting With Mojo

i think today i'll be taking a day off from creating. boy was i having a time with mojo yesterday! no matter what i tried to create just wasn't cutting it. however, i was able to get 2 cards done and i'm liking both of them. i'm still not pushing my luck today - LOL.

both cards are by FLOPPY LATTE. she's also running a 50% off sale! HOLY MOLY!!!! that puts just about EVERYTHING at her store under $2... AND you can use your BUY ONE / GET ONE coupon to add even more savings!!! way to go jess!!!!

this is dedicated to hubby. he actually had a golf bag just like this. he was an avid golfer. when we started dating, on his days off golfing, he would tell me.... when you get home from work, come find me on the golf course. just look for my ORANGE BAG!!! it was VERY orange and VERY large! one of our dear friends asked if he could have it when hubby passed. i gave it to him - clubs and all. i KNOW it's in a good home!

so, i embossed PJ STRIPES on my base; colored with copics and distressed around the image; then cut 2 large circles (nesties) and embossed SWISS DOTS on one - you know - that "golf ball" effect!!! the challenges for this one are...

now i'm off to get dressed to head off for my walk. i'm expecting to enjoy my easy day! yeah, i know me.... i'm sure i'll wind up in my room to play. it better NOT be to reorganize!!!!

- Older women will imagine the misery that the woman's rear will cause by the time she reaches 50.
- But only children, the extremely intelligent and the celibate will notice that the taxi is being driven by a dog.

Surprise Ending

so, right after i posted my neighbor called and said she'd pick me up at 7:15 to go for our walk. today too. may as well. (1) i'm up; (2) all i'd be doing otherwise is sitting in front of the computer and (3) i really feel good going!!! so there ya have it... my healthy resolution. now if only i could eat better!!!

i finally took all my pointsettia plants down and spruced the house up. sure it's wintery outside, but my SILK plants are all looking "spring-like" and the house is bright and cheery! well duh! i'm the only bright and cheery thing here! heeeellllooooo! ok. i'll stop.

let's go to the fun part...

another beauty by FLOPPY LATTE called CIRCLE LILY. this is a 6x6 and boy do i love it! there is just so much more room to play in than in an A2 card. my only complaint is (or will be) the postage. it already costs me 2 stamps just for a regular A2 card. this will probably cost me 4 stamps!!!! ouch! again, i digress (must be early LOL), i did add some ORANGE stickles to the flower and the fancy die is a SPELLBINDER. the challenges for this one are....

Time Flies

my goodness! not only has another week gone by - and rather quickly i might add - but it's ALMOST the end of january!!! now where in the world did this month go????? all i remember (so far) is that i'm having alot of fun lately.... i guess that's a good thing!

i had more fun yesterday playing.....

now how pretty is this???? another stunning new image (LOVE NOTES) from FLOPPY LATTE (FLD); so my base is riding hood red with a layer of chocolate chip - sounds delicious already - colored with copics; added some DIAMOND and XMAS RED stickles; hand wrote on the brown tag tho it's a little bit hard to see (i think i need a new white gel pen); paper pierced the corners and needed to fill in the void on the left so i found this valentine border in my stash, cut it to size and BADDA BOOM, BADDA BING!!! the challenges for this one are.....

today's words of wisdom... WELFARE CHECK
A guy walked into the local welfare office to pick up his check. He marched straight up to the counter and said, "Hi. You know...., I just HATE drawing welfare. I'd really rather be working."

The social worker behind the counter said, "Your timing is excellent. We just got a job opening from a very wealthy old man who wants a Chauffeur and bodyguard for his beautiful daughter. You'll have to drive her around in his 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS, and he will supply all of your upscale clothes.

Because of the long hours, meals will be provided. You'll also be expected to escort his daughter on her overseas holiday trips. This is rather awkward to say but you will also have as part of your job assignment to satisfy her sexual urges as the daughter is in her mid 20's and has a rather strong sex drive."

The guy, just plain wide-eyed, said, "You're b s-ing me!"

The social worker said, "Yeah, well ... You started it."

Snow Shoveling Angels

so i opened the garage door to see just how deep the snow was and how much shoveling i would have to do and............... HOLY MOLY! my driveway is clear!!!!! the snow-shoveling angels came during the night and shoveled my driveway!!!!! am i blessed or what????? no. really. my driveway was all cleared out and i NEVER heard a thing! anyway, it was my neighbors grandkids who did it. and yeah, i really AM blessed!

i never moved out of the house. 2 days of mail is waiting for me in the mailbox. today i go to church, so i will do a few errands and pick up my mail. the weathermen say 8-10 inches of snow fell, but if you all remember, i live in a valley, so we got maybe 5-6 inches at best. the roads are clear and the weather this week is supposed to be in the high 30s tho it is supposed to sleet tonite. right now i'm listening to the wind howl outside my kitchen window. don't know if that means it's windy OR i need to seal my window!!!!!

so i stayed in and played. boy, i think i need to devote at least one day to cleaning. i know! i NEVER mention how much housework i do, but then... it's ONLY me, and believe me, i dust and sweep DAILY! plus, it's way more fun crafting.

FLOPPY LATTE keeps doing new images and i just keep on playing. i'm having a total blast with her fabulous images.

so, all 3 of these images are PART of a bigger circle which you can find here.. they were a little too big for what i needed - or should i say, i printed them out a little too big and didn't want to reprint them - so i used the centers. the embossing is called MUSICAL NOTES and i added XMAS RED stickles on the lips. the challenges for this card are....

I Never Know What to Name my Posts

the snow stopped and it looks like we got about 7-8 inches (as predicted). if my neighbor doesn't come out with the snowblower (his back has been bothering him lately), i'll be out there for sure shoveling. that's one job that never bothered me - go figure - me! miss LAZYass!!!!! that and ironing. i actually enjoy ironing - once i HAVE TO do it. believe me, my iron hasn't been used in years, but if i need to, i don't mind ironing! didn't know that about me did ya???? i'm just a bucket of surprises!

now let's see what i've been up to....

i'm not sure how much i like how this turned out. i LOVE the image. it's a new one by FLOPPY LATTE DESIGNS. hey! i am, after all, her PRODUCT DESIGNER!!! anyway, the image is called FLORAL MONOGRAM FRAME, colored with copics. my base is tempting turquois (stampin up) and the paper is an oriental paper from my friend gina {{waving to gina with a big thank you}}. oh i like the paper, i'm just not sure how much i'm liking it with these colors, yet i just couldn't find anything else that i liked in ALL of my stash. can you believe that? the sentiment is an old STAMPIN UP one.... and the challenges for this one are....

oh a happier note..... it's the weekend, no snow in the forecast, warmer temps (yeah like 32F is warm) and i have another day to play! hope your day is super spectacular too!

today's words of wisdom... Late Night Call to the Vet

A dog lover, whose dog was a female and "in heat," agreed to look after her neighbor's male dog while her neighbors were on vacation. The dog lover had a large house and believed that she could keep the two dogs apart. However, as she was drifting off to sleep she heard awful howling and moaning sounds, rushed downstairs and found the dogs locked together, in obvious pain and unable to disengage, as so frequently happens when dogs mate.

Unable to separate them, and perplexed as to what to do next, although it was late, she called the vet, who answered in a very grumpy voice.

Having explained the problem to him, the vet said,

"Hang up the phone and place it down alongside the dogs. I will then call you back and the noise of the ringing will make the male lose his erection and he will be able to withdraw."

"Do you think that will work?" she asked.

"It just worked for me," he replied.

man! what a dog!!!!!! LOL

Snowed In

yep. the snow has arrived! nice big, fat snowflakes and it's sticking! looks beautiful and i do not have to go out for anything - not even going for my mail! more time to stay in and create - which is just what i've been doing.

let's get on with the show.....

now this one i cased and i do apologize because i've narry a clue where from - a challenge awhile back is all i remember. i'm so bad at not marking down the very creative ladies i case from and i really, really do apologize. not much on this one... embossed DOODLE HEARTS; the punched hearts were in my stash; the twine is from PIZZAZZ APLENTY - it's all white sparkle and i went over it with a red copic; added a ribbon and thought anniversary was good for this one.

now this one has been sitting around awhile - did ya guess????? a fancy embossed frame; image is called TRUMPETING SNOWMAN by GLITTERBABE; colored with copics with a little glitter added. i framed it in PICNIC. looks nice and cold - perfect for today's weather - if you ask me!

A Floppy Latte Day

NO. there is NO picture of my haircut. it's JUST a haircut - a trim - a cleanup, whatever you want to call it and i look JUST like my profile picture. i don't venture too far from what i like and i like my hair just the way it is! but i sure do appreciate you all asking for one!

it is freakin' freezing! yesterday it did NOT snow, the sun came out but holy moly! talk about cold! i don't think we got above 12F - at least NOT in sandwich, IL. right now as i type this it is 6F with a windchill of -15F and i'm off to the gym. i must be nuts!!!

Jennifer, a manager at Wal-Mart, had the task of hiring someone to fill a job opening. After sorting through a stack of 20 resumes she found four people who were equally qualified. The day came and as the four sat around the conference room table, Jennifer asked, 'What is the fastest thing you know of?'

Jennifer was very impressed with the third answer and thought she had found her man. 'It's hard to beat the speed of light,' she said.

Turning to BUBBA, the fourth and final man, Jennifer posed the same question.

Old Bubba replied, 'After hearing the previous three answers, it's obvious to me that the fastest thing known is DIARRHEA.'

'WHAT!?' said Jennifer, stunned by the response.

'Oh sure', said BUBBA. 'You see, the other day I wasn't feeling so good, and I ran for the bathroom, but before I could THINK, BLINK, or TURN ON THE LIGHT, I had already crapped my pants.'

BUBBA is now the new greeter at a Wal-Mart near you!

Short and Simple

boy was it cold yesterday. i had to run out to put some gas in the car because today i am picking up 2 people and we're going to get our hair cut -- and that's a 35 mile, 40 minute drive away. well more because one of the girls lives in the opposite direction of where we're going. PLUS, it's supposed to snow tho' not much ... today. tomorrow they're saying MAYBE 6+ inches. UGH! but that's ok. i plan on staying in anyway.

so, i played for a little bit because that cough that i didn't have finally showed up. i think he changed places with mr. mojo! so, my girlfriend's son turns 16 next week. ahhhh, remember that age???? well, i remember it from a girl's point anyway - LOL. here's the card i made for him.... he's into sports... could ya guess????

is this a riot or what? and so well-fit for him too! the image is colored with my copics and the image is from DUDE TIME DOODLES.
STAMPING ROYALTY has a color challenge this week of pumpkin pie, tempting tourquoise, crumb cake and lucky limeade, so i'm entering this into it. i think i got it covered!

Keeping it Simple

well, if you ask me, january is going by pretty fast - and that's considering i'm not really very busy! worked the food pantry yesterday and i know i say this all the time... it's hard work, i come home exhausted and with a backache, but i just LOVE doing it! this week, tho', in opinion, there was just way too much "junk" food. i mean.... 3 gigantic boxes of candies, swedish fish, sour worms, peeps, peanut butter cups and pieces; chocolates, lollipops; and then there was another gigantic box of chicklets gum! remember those little boxes with 2 pieces in them? well picture a box the size of something a large microwave might come in, filled to the brim with those little boxes; and then the cakes, muffins, coffee cakes, brownies, cookies! oy vey! all that outweighed the "necessary" stuff. sure there were boxes of betty crocker sweet potato mix; juliene potato mix; cereals; liquid ibuprofin; soap; salad dressing and bread - we get at least 6 tables filled with breads - but the junk food really took over this week. anyway, i'm rambling. oh did i mention, bugles, nacho chips, corn chips, potato chips? but hey, when it's free you take it! ok. i'm done.

this morning i am off again to walk. it's a very cold day today. right now it's 10F with an expected high of maybe 24F. i hope to get some playing in today. didn't play yesterday, but i do have cards to post. you know me, if i make ONE card, i make FOUR!!!!

now how easy is this? i found this heart border in my die cut stash, pasted it on the cardstock, found a nice stamp and there ya go! nothing to it. the challenges for this one are....

today's words of wisdom.... THE STOCKINGS WERE HUNG....
As a joke, my brother Jay used to hang a pair of panty hose over his fireplace before Christmas. He said all he wanted was for Santa to fill them.

What they say about Santa checking the list twice must be true because every Christmas morning, although Jay's kids' stockings overflowed, his poor pantyhose hung sadly empty.

One year I decided to make his dream come true. I put on sunglasses and went in search of an inflatable love doll. They don't sell those things at Wal-Mart. I had to go to an adult bookstore downtown.

If you've never been in an X-rated store, don't go, you'll only confuse yourself. I was there an hour saying things like, 'What does this do?' 'You're kidding me!' 'Who would buy that?' Finally, I made it to the inflatable doll section.

I wanted to buy a standard, uncomplicated doll that could also substitute as a passenger in my truck so I could use the car pool lane during rush hour.

Finding what I wanted was difficult. 'Love Dolls' come in many different models. The top of the line, according to the side of the box, could do things I'd only seen in a book on animal husbandry. I settled for 'Lovable Louise.' She was at the bottom of the price scale.

To call Louise a 'doll' took a huge leap of imagination.

On Christmas Eve and with the help of an old bicycle pump, Louise came to life.

My sister-in-law was in on the plan and let me in during the wee morning hours. Long after Santa had come and gone, I filled the dangling pantyhose with Louise's pliant legs and bottom. I also ate some cookies and drank what remained of a glass of milk on a nearby tray. I went home, and giggled for a couple of hours.

The next morning my brother called to say that Santa had been to his house and left a present that had made him VERY happy, but had left the dog confused. She would bark, start to walk away, then come back and bark some more.

We all agreed that Louise should remain in her pantyhose so the rest of the family could admire her when they came over for the traditional Christmas dinner.

My grandmother noticed Louise the moment she walked in the door. 'What the hell is that?' she asked.

My brother quickly explained, 'It's a doll.'

'Who would play with something like that?' Granny snapped.

I kept my mouth shut.

'Where are her clothes?' Granny continued.

'Boy, that turkey sure smells nice, Gran,' Jay said, to steer her into the dining room.

But Granny was relentless. 'Why doesn't she have any teeth?'

Again, I could have answered, but why would I? It was Christmas and no one wanted to ride in the back of the ambulance saying, 'Hang on Granny, hang on!'

My grandfather, a delightful old man with poor eyesight, sidled up to me and said, 'Hey, who's the naked gal by the fireplace?' I told him she was Jay's friend.

A few minutes later I noticed Grandpa by the mantel, talking to Louise. Not just talking, but actually flirting. It was then that we realized this might be Grandpa's last Christmas at home.

The dinner went well. We made the usual small talk about who had died, who was dying, and who should be killed, when suddenly Louise made a noise like my father in the bathroom in the morning. Then she lurched from the mantel, flew around the room twice, and fell in a heap in front of the sofa. The cat screamed. I passed cranberry sauce through my nose, and Grandpa ran across the room, fell to his knees, and began administering mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

My brother fell back over his chair and wet his pants.

Granny threw down her napkin, stomped out of the room, and sat in the car.

It was indeed a Christmas to treasure and remember.
Later in my brother's garage, we conducted a thorough examination to decide the cause of Louise's collapse. We discovered that Louise had suffered from a hot ember to the back of her right thigh.

Fortunately, thanks to a wonder drug called duct tape, we restored her to perfect health..

I can't wait until next Christmas.

OMG! did anyone see TWO AND A HALF MEN last night????? let me tell you, when astin kutcher walked in ALL CLEANED UP, i literally gasped!!!! wow! wow! wow! he is definitely a HOTTIE!!! and that was my excitement for the night!!!!!! just kidding - but i really did GASP out loud!

i cannot believe that i was up at 4:30 this morning! sheesh! and i didn't even nod off in front of the tv last night. i hate when you THINK you hear a strange noise in the house and you open your eyes and lie there to see if you'll hear it again! i heard some kind of noise - which i'm SURE was either in a dream or just my imagination - but i THOUGHT i heard something and i've been up ever since! i also woke up with a little more congestion again - ugh! i'm off early this morning (well 2 hours away still) to walk and then to the food pantry today - and it's cold and rainy. oh well, such is life. but way better than sitting on my butt doing nothing. i think mojo wants to take a breather because he's sure not in my head today. i'll blame it on the congestion - LOL. at least he was around yesterday.... mojo that is.... when i saw the gorgeous color challenge over at THE PLAY DATE CAFE,

i just had to play. i rummaged thru my digis and found this stunning image from DOVER and thought it would be perfect with the challenge..

and i just love that sentiment which is from TLC CREATIONS; my base is white, then a layer of gold, burgundy and a plum all from my stash; i colored with copics, added some PLATINUM stickles and there ya go. the flash kinda washed out the colors because it really hits the mark on the challenge (in my opinion, of course).

then i just played...

nothing to this one.... embossed SWISS DOTS, image is called PRINCESS CROWN and it's by GLITTERBABE; colored with a copic and added buttons on the points. ya know, i think i'm gonna enter this one in the SQUIGGLEFLY challenge.... it calls for BUTTONS! yeah! that's the ticket!

sunday? alreday? this week just flew by. it's already the middle of january!!!! i guess that's good. more time CLOSER to spring! come on!! we can only bitch about winter for so long - ya think????

so, i trotted off to walmart yesterday and got my milk and $30 worth of more stuff i DIDN'T NEED!!!! sheesh! i hate that store!!! maybe next time i'll go just to sit and watch the WAL-MARTIANS once i've made the actual purchase i went in there for!!!!

ok. i digress... yeah, and get off the track too. sooooooooo, it was 16F, sunny and absolutely gorgeous out! there was no wind at all which made the 16F feel like 25F. i was really glad to have gotten out. didn't do much once i got home, but yeah, yeah, i' played enough to have post. what? me NOT post???? never gonna happen! i LOVE my blog and i love YOU more! now grab that coffee and let's get this show on the road....

If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you sure could use some money - this one doesn't work. they do NOT fall for this one, but hey! it's worth a shot!

Relaxing Fun

well i didn't do much of anything yesterday OR as the saying goes.... a little bit of everything and alot of nothing! that was my day... and it was fabulous. i was relaxed and just enjoyed it totally..... until about 7:30 p.m. when it suddenly hit me that TODAY would have been hubby's 71st birthday. so, i had a little bit of a crying jag - really, just a little - wished him a happy birthday and then made myself a nice hot cup of cappuccino. i'm good to go.

i have not been out of the house in 2 days. at all. not even to the mailbox. today i need to venture out at least to get milk. isn't that always the story??? i need to get MILK! no cake, no cookies, no cereal, just MILK. i don't even drink MILK. i use SILK VANILLA ALMOND soy milk - and that's for my cereal ONLY. and on the coldest day of the year i need to go out to get MORE - go figure!

at least i'm feeling better - not that i felt bad - but sounds and feels like the congestion has gone down some. oh, i'm still a bit congested, but not nearly as much as i was - yay.

now, let's have a look at that alot of nothing i did yesterday.....

Happy Friday the 13th

so i took the afternoon off and stayed on the computer after yesterday's 2d post. it stopped snowing and my guess is 3 inches - with a few drifts. everything looks beautiful. however, it is cold - very cold. the high today is an expected 17F and right now is 14F. i plan another day of staying in and having fun! well, it IS friday the 13th and i won't push my luck - LOL.

so, here's more of the fun i had yesterday....

now this is pretty. there alot going on here and i'm liking it. love the colors don't you? the pink is BAZILL; the blue is just from my stash; the image is DOVE LOVE by GLITTERBABE ; colored with copics; faux-stitching; a few embellishments and there ya go. only one challenge for this one...

today's words of wisdom.... AN IRISH GHOST STORY
This happened a while ago in Dublin , and even though it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock story, it's true.

     John Bradford, a Dublin University student, was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a very dark night and in the midst of a storm. No cars were traveling that night. The storm was so strong he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him.
     Suddenly, he saw a car slowly coming towards him and stop. John, desperate for shelter and without thinking about it, got into the car and closed the door.... only to realize there was nobody behind the wheel and the engine wasn't on!!
     The car started moving slowly.. John looked at the road ahead and saw a curve approaching. Scared, he started to pray, begging for his life. Then, just before the car hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and turned the wheel. John, paralyzed with terror, watched as the hand repeatedly came through the window, but never touched or harmed him.
     Shortly thereafter John saw the lights of a pub appear down the road. So, gathering strength, he jumped out of the car and ran to the pub. Wet and out of breath, he rushed inside and started telling everybody
about the horrible experience he had just had. A silence enveloped the pub when everybody realized he was crying and....wasn't drunk.
     Suddenly the door opened and two other people walked in from the stormy night. They, like John, were also soaked and out of breath. Looking around, and seeing John Bradford sobbing at the bar, one said to the other....'Look Paddy...there's that freakin' idiot that got in the car while we were pushin' it.

well the snow is still falling but it's light and powdery. we've got about 2-1/2 inches so far with a prediction of 4-7". don't matter, i'm not going anywhere!

perfect card for today, ya think? is he a hottie or what? frosty's double? nah! this one's better looking if you ask me. why? because he's MINE!!! MINE, MINE, ALL MINE!!! ok, i'm getting nutsy here. by that i mean, he's my image... SNOWMAN WITH SIGN (you can find him here). soooooooo, i embossed SNOWFLAKES all over the place, ripped a piece of white, added a little blue and stickles. stuck "frosty" behind the mound of snow and stamped merry christmas in his sign; oh yeah, he's colored with copics! and the challenges for this are....

Call me Nuts

well, so far no snow. nothing. nada. nary-a-snowflake! however, it's almost 7:25 a.m. and it's dark as night out. the sun is not even beginning to peek out. we are under snow advisory and that's ok with me. i've no reason to be going out in it anyway. i'm not a fan of snow - but ONLY if i know i have to drive in it. i love watching it fall and the glistening. i love how the ground looks so pure and sparkly when there is nothing to mar it - no footprints, leaf marks, etc. it's just plain gorgeous - as long i'm looking at it from the INSIDE! right now, i'm not seeing anything, but i'll bet dollars-to-donuts, i'll be bitching about it later - LOL.

UPDATE: ok. it's 11:00 a.m. the the snow is falling. big, fluffly flakes. right now just a dusting, i'm sure by lunch the ground will be covered. it's soooooooooo pretty. no bitching .... YET!

i'm still congested - very congested. however, other than being congested i really feel fine. still no coughing (thank goodness), no aches and pains (even better) and no sneezing (well a small occasional one). i am really blessed. it could be worse!

well, i'm still congested and still NOT coughing or sneezing. probably sound worse than i feel. i cancelled my hair appointment for tomorrow and it's supposed to snow then. today supposed to be another gorgeous day. i just may run out to gas up the car. otherwise, i'm in and playing. what a life!!!!

i'm sure i intended this one for some "red" challenge held last month. sheesh! anyway, it's still a pretty one. my usual embossing, nesties, copics and i used liquid pearls. nice winter wedding card if you ask me!

here's another "missed" challenge one..

i cut out TOP NOTZ (stampin up) and glittered around it; embossed a white scrap; colored and cut the image (THE BUBBLY by GLITTERBABE); hand cut the sentiment and pasted it on some gorgeous glitter cardstock that my dear friend GINA in the UK sent me (thank you gina!!!). my friend who was over last week learning to craft loved this card and took it home with her! definitely says GLITTERBABE!!!

i may feel like crap, but i HATE being bored. so, off to my room i went to keep my sanity; and now we'll see just how sane i was - LOL

Caught the Bug

well, this morning i have a full-blown congestion - ugh! and aches and pains - bigger UGHS! i haven't been sick or even near sick in years - literally. guess i was due! i have a hair appointment - which i desperately need - on thursday and the weather is predicting about 2 inches of snow. guess i'll be cancelling THAT appointment! oh, and no gym the rest of this week.

speaking of gym... the gym is an OLD one in the neighborhood. the schools use it for basketball, wrestling and cheerleader practice. it's open to the public during school hours and school days and it opens early. so that's where we went yesterday. i did 20 mins. around the court. it felt good - real good. i'll definitely be looking forward to THAT exercise and giving my neighbor back her monstrosity of a treadmill. oh no! i want that thing OUT of my bedroom. all i do is look at it, walk around it, step over it to make the bed and watch the dust collect on it. I HATE IT and it's going back! i'll take that 2-1/2 min. ride to the gym with my friends and ENJOY my exercise walking around a very boring basketball court.

ok. is that enough bitching and moaning for ya? now to the fun stuff!

valentine's day will be here before ya know it. another easy one and this was cased from something i saw in my blurfing sometime last month. CAS for sure.... hand drew the border; punched out hearts (eksuccess); hand-wrote love with my white gel pen and hand wrote the "you" in really red (stampin up); badda-boom, badda bing. no challenges for this one.

no crafting for me today unless some GIGANTIC urge hits me. my plan is to vegg-out and drink lots of fluids. the hard part will be TRYING to vegg-out. i'm not one for sitting still at all. i may have to make a short trip into my back room, just to keep my brain focused OFF my congestion!!!

Manic Monday and Funky Flowers

i'm off to the gym with 2 of my neighbors. the place opens to the public this morning and we're going to use the track. i'm really excited about this. i was gonna say i'm keeping this post short because i need to get dressed and out of here, but you know me... i tend to get wordy. really? me???? haaahhaaahhaaa

anyway..... i didn't feel too bad yesterday tho my cold IS worse today. still no coughing or sneezing, but i'm really congested and the part i hate the most is that really lousy infection taste i have in my mouth - YUCK!!!! ok. enough of gross. let's get to pretty....

today if MANIC MONDAY over at FLOPPY LATTE DESIGNS - and, trust me, it's definitely MANIC. if you don't get her newsletter you should definitely sign up for it because........ holy moly...... she's got some real good coupons coming up NOT TO MENTION her gorgeous new images!!!! speaking of gorgeous new images... here's one of them - 2 times...

this is the first.... it's called FUNKY FLOWER III and it's part of her 5-flower release today. is this gorgeous or what? it's easy to color and bling up - there is stickles around the edge and in the center. i didn't want to detract from this beauty so i just embossed WINDOW PANE on off-white cardstock. just beautiful!

this is the same flower - FUNKY FLOWER III - using the center only. actually, my intention was to pop-up the first image using this leaf die. however, the flower was too big and covered the die, soooooooo, brain in overdrive, i cut the center out of that gorgeous flower (shameful, i know) and just placed it at one end of this fabulous die (FANCIFUL FLOURISH by CHEERY LYNN); basic white base, rounded corners and edged with a sage green. another beauty - in my opinion - and easy!!!

first.... i'm feeling better tho my throat is still a little scratchy. no coughing tho - yay.

2nd... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELVIS! don't ask why i did this. he's dead for crying out loud! i only hope everyone continues to celebrate MY birthday when i'm dead!!!!

i continued to play yesterday.....

i am having fun making valentines and this was an easy one (aren't they all????). very vanilla base; embossed STARS AND SWIRLS on ruby red, and DOODLE HEARTS on sage green; punched a few circles and a heart and added bling and stamp. oh yeah, rounded the corners too. the little ribbon holding the heart is just a small scrap piece of the ruby red. i really like this color combo.

the challenges for this one are...

Chocolates and a little surprise

well i'm sick. yeah, i KNOW you KNOW that, but i mean physically sick! fortunately, i doubt it's anything more than a bad cold. you know... glassy, runny, burning eyes, congestion, aches and pains, no fever, no coughing but feel like crap. guess i'll be taking it easy this weekend! i cannot even remember the last time i had a bad cold or was close to being sick... and i still don't like it! oh well, such is life!

i need a new keyboard. the keys are all shiny and alot of the letters are missing. do you get the feeling i type alot?????

ok. back to the fun stuff. not much there as i wasn't feeling well enough to dance around the craft room with mr. mojo. but i did make a card and................... i do have a bit of news for you...

this is a 6x6 card too! now that's definitely a shocker for me - LOL. isn't this purrrrty??? all the cardstock and papers are from my stash and except for the black being by STAMPIN UP, the rest is scraps. the image is MINE called BOX OF CHOCOLATES 2 i colored the image in photoshop; added a ribbon and some DIAMOND stickles; used a QUICKUTZ scalloped border punch and my large oval nesties punch. i love how this one turned out and i really liked working on a 6x6. now to make an envelope for it - oy vey!

well, the weather today is supposed to be ALMOST 60F and i feel like crap. feels like i'm getting strep throat and believe me, i've had THAT soooooooo many times that i defintely know what it feels like. UGH! i think i'll just take it easy today. may be a total pajama day - as much as i hate that - LOL.

My Bedroom

so off i went for my pedicure, and like predicted i was home by 9:00 a..m. my neighbor called and said she'd treat for lunch and then we should go shopping for a while as she needed to pick up a few things. fine with me tho' i needed NOTHING. we stayed local and cheap - you know - DOLLAR GENERAL, FAMILY DOLLAR, WALMART. i did find a bedspread at FAMILY DOLLAR for $28 - which is a steal for me because i have a super-king bed. you also GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. oh it's a really pretty set, however, it barely fits my entire bed but it looks nice and i'll keep it... for $28 - yep. i'll keep it.

by the time we got home i was NOT in the mood for anything, not to mention that i just did not feel that great. i was dragging my butt all day yesterday; like i needed more sleep - which THAT didn't happen. anyway, wednesday nights i go to prayer service so i needed to get ready for that. ok. now that you know my life story - LOL - yeah, i have a card for ya....

weather is beautiful. yesterday was fabulous and it's supposed to get warmer thru at least tomorrow which should hit the MID 50s! now THAT's fabulous for january! there is nothing on my agenda today and i really hope mojo pops in because i will play with or without him!

Busy and Lovin' It

so, i worked at the food pantry yesterday. i love, love, love working the pantry but it IS hard work..... bending, lifting, standing; but talk about rewarding! i love meeting all the people. most of them know me already and they are always in good spirits. always smiling, always have a kind word. how can you NOT feel good working this?

from there i went to give blood. my arm hurts a little today AND tho i DO NOT have a black and blue mark, the cloth bandaid they put on me definitely left it's mark. happens everytime. maybe THAT'S what i have an allergy too?

this morning i am off (early) for my pedicure. i should be home by 9:00 a.m. and my whole day is free. i'm tired today but i'm sure looking forward to playing. i hope mojo pops in - LOL.

i do have a couple of cards to post which i've been hoarding - for your viewing fun, of course!!!!

the BIG blue button!!! cased this one way before the holidays - yeah, i've been holding it that long! am i a card hoarder???? ogoodgolly!!! anyway, my base is black (no surprise there); the blue is tempting turquoise (stampin up) and i embossed a border on it; the frame around the circle is one of my just rite stamps; not sure what stamp i used for the frame around the tab, added the BIG blue button and there ya go. i really like this one! what do you think?

got me a banner die (hobby lobby, reduced for clearance and by quickutz) and thought i'd give that one a try. the banner is a bit on the large side and long. it's a full 12 inches long. seeing as i do NOT do 12 inch anything i CUT my long dies in half. yep.... all of them. more convenient for my personal use. anyway, i used some miscellaneous floral paper for the banner; punched out the flowers; added brads and a sentiment and.... really easy! i like this one too!

JANUARY 4th - it's still DIET RESOLUTION WEEK - is it as hard for you as it is for me? 4 days into january and i don't think i've even begun my diet. UGH!

FUN FOOD FACT (keeping with diet week - we're on the C's) -
Canola oil is actually rapeseed oil but the name was changed for marketing reasons - makes sense to me
Cashew nut shells contain oil that is extremely irritating to human skin - hence the allergies, ya think????
Coffee beans aren't beans - they're fruit pits - ok. i've got no comment on this one
Cranberries are sorted for ripeness by bouncing them; a fully ripened cranberry can be dribbled like a basketball - did mom know this? you know.... STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR FOOD!!!!!
